Burnham Alpine ALP210B in practice

The ALP210B is the top of the Alpine sizes that can hang on a wall (floor-standing also allowed): 42–210 MBH input with 194 MBH DOE heating capacity and a 169 MBH net AHRI water rating at 95.0% AFUE (Table 1-5, Alpine I&O Manual 103448-12). It carries the stainless steel coil heat exchanger, Sage2.X outdoor-reset control, 5:1 modulation and identical NG/LP inputs of the rest of the line.

At 206 lb shipping weight it keeps the 1/2" FPT gas and 1" FPT supply/return connections of the smaller sizes (160 psi MAWP, 30 psi standard relief) and vents in 3" CPVC/PVC to 135 ft maximum equivalent on both intake and vent. Like the other ALP080B–ALP210B sizes it is rated to 2,000 ft elevation with a 2.5% derate per 1,000 ft above; a licensed contractor sizes, installs and commissions the boiler.

Best suited to

  • Large homes and small multi-suite plants whose calculated load exceeds 150 MBH
  • High-demand indirect-tank systems within the 210 MBH input ceiling
  • Mechanical rooms where a 3" vent and intake run of up to 135 ft each fits
