Burnham Alpine ALP105B

The Burnham Alpine ALP105B fires 21 to 105 MBH input at 95.0% AFUE — 96 MBH DOE heating capacity and an 83 MBH net AHRI rating — in the wall-hung or floor-standing Alpine chassis, with the same 3" venting (2" option) as the ALP080B.

Burnham Alpine ALP105B in practice

The ALP105B steps the Alpine line to 21–105 MBH input with 96 MBH DOE heating capacity and an 83 MBH net AHRI water rating at 95.0% AFUE (Table 1-5, Alpine I&O Manual 103448-12). It shares the family's condensing stainless steel coil heat exchanger (ASME Section IV), Sage2.X outdoor-reset control and 5:1 modulation, and runs identical inputs on natural gas and propane.

At 155 lb shipping weight it connects on 1/2" FPT gas and 1" FPT supply/return and is rated 160 psi MAWP with a 30 psi standard relief valve. Venting is 3" CPVC/PVC to 135 ft maximum equivalent intake and vent, with the same reduced 2" option to 60 ft as the 080B. Above 2,000 ft elevation the ratings derate 2.5% per 1,000 ft; a licensed contractor performs installation, gas and venting work against the manual.

Best suited to

  • Detached homes whose heat-loss calculation exceeds the ALP080B's 80 MBH ceiling
  • Small commercial-adjacent loads still within 105 MBH input
  • Projects wanting the 3" vent run (135 ft) with the optional 2" route kept for tight spaces

Frequently asked questions

How does the ALP105B compare with the ALP080B?

Input rises from 16–80 to 21–105 MBH, DOE heating capacity from 72 to 96 MBH and net AHRI from 63 to 83 MBH; both are 95.0% AFUE with the same 3"/2" venting options, and the 105B is 18 lb heavier (155 lb shipping).

Does the ALP105B produce domestic hot water?

No. It is heating-only; an indirect tank or separate water heater supplies DHW.

What is the ALP105B's vent limit in 3" pipe?

135 ft maximum equivalent each for intake and vent in the standard 3" CPVC/PVC build; the reduced 2" build is limited to 60 ft.
