Safety Limit Open. An external safety limit is open (check the jumper is installed per the wiring diagram if no external limit is used, verify external limit wiring and setting), a low water condition exists on the LWCO (verify the system is full of water and purged, check the automatic air vent, check the LWCO wiring harness if lights are off), or the thermal fuse is open (check continuity; consult the manufacturer if open). The table classifies it as Hold.
If a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds
- Leave the building immediately and get fresh air.
- Call 911. Do not go back inside until emergency services say it is safe.
- Have every fuel-burning appliance inspected before use.
