IBC HC 15-96 in practice
The HC 15-96 is the most efficient model in IBC's discontinued HC line at 96% AFUE, covering 15–96 MBH CSA input (4.4–28.1 kW) and 14.5–85.9 MBH output (4.3–25.2 kW). As a heating-only boiler it has no DHW rows: the specification table lists only the 43.5 psig space-heating coil, a supplied 30 psig relief valve and 50–194°F space-heating water.
It weighs 96 lb (44 kg) and holds 0.5 USG (1.9 L) — the larger vessel used by the 15-96 and 33-160 in the HC range — with a 128 W full-fire draw including the internal pump. Maximum boiler flow is 10 USgpm and the minimum is 2 USgpm.
The 15-96 is covered by HC I&O manual 120-185-A-R10. It vents 120 equivalent feet in 3" or 35 feet in 2" per side and remains documented on IBC's Technical Information Portal along with the rest of the discontinued HC Series.
Best suited to
- Owners confirming the HC line's 96% AFUE rating
- Homes where 85.9 MBH output covers the load and DHW is separate
- Technicians comparing the HC 15-96 with the 15-95 and 29-106
