IBC HC 20-125 in practice

The HC 20-125 covers 20–125 MBH CSA input (5.6–36.6 kW) for 18.6–110.8 MBH output (5.4–32.5 kW) at 95% AFUE. Its 20 MBH minimum input is the second-lowest in the HC line after the 13-50's 13.5 MBH, while its 110.8 MBH output sits just above the 29-106's 94.3 MBH.

It is heating-only, with the standard HC 43.5 psig space-heating coil, a supplied 30 psig relief valve and 50–194°F water temperatures. The unit weighs 96 lb (44 kg), holds 0.5 USG (1.9 L) and draws 130 W at full fire including the internal pump; maximum boiler flow is 11 USgpm and the minimum is 3 USgpm.

The 20-125 appears in both HC I&O coverage lists (120-185-A-R10 and 120-185-A-R9). It vents 120 equivalent feet in 3" or 35 feet in 2" per side and remains documented on IBC's Technical Information Portal.

Best suited to

  • Owners documenting an existing HC 20-125 installation
  • Homes wanting a low 20 MBH minimum fire with up to 110.8 MBH output
  • Technicians comparing the HC 20-125 with the 29-106 and 33-160
