NTI Trinity TRX150

The NTI Trinity TRX150 is the 95% AFUE heating-only TRX for larger homes: 15 to 150 MBH input, stepping up to 1 1/4" NPT CH connections and 115 lb, with 2" venting to 100 ft or 3" to 150 ft per side.

NTI Trinity TRX150 in practice

The TRX150 marks the point where the TRX family steps up physically: the boiler gains 26 lb over the 88.6 lb TRX120, its CH connections move from 1" sweat to 1 1/4" NPT, and the input ceiling rises to 150 MBH. It stays heating-only at 95% AFUE with domestic hot water from an indirect tank or separate water heater.

For mid-to-larger Lower Mainland homes the TRX150 covers design-day loads that exceed the 120's ceiling while keeping a 15 MBH minimum fire that still modulates through mild weather. The 2" vent route remains available to 100 ft per side, so retrofit vent planning rarely forces a move up to the 199.

Best suited to

  • Larger detached homes whose heat loss plus hot-water recovery exceeds 120 MBH
  • Houses with radiators or in-floor loops needing up to about 139 MBH of output
  • Installers comfortable with 1 1/4" NPT near-boiler piping

Frequently asked questions

What changes between the TRX120 and the TRX150?

Input rises from 120 to 150 MBH, weight from 88.6 to 115 lb, and the CH connections from 1" male sweat to 1 1/4" NPT. Both are heating-only and rated 95% AFUE.

Does the TRX150 make hot water?

No. It is heating-only. The TRX150C combi in the same series heats at 13.2 to 120 MBH and adds a domestic hot water plate.

What are the TRX150's venting limits?

2" runs to 100 ft or 3" runs to 150 ft per side per the NTI product page; the 150's 2" terms are not subject to the 199-model bulletin restriction.
