NTI Boilers Trinity TRX

The Trinity TRX is NTI's wall-hung residential condensing boiler line built around the XTRATECH stainless steel heat exchanger with large-diameter tubing. It runs from the TRX085 to the TRX199, plus the TRX110C, TRX150C and TRX199C combis, and is sold as Series I and Series II with the same ratings and a new user interface on the Series II.

The page headline says "models up to 96% AFUE": NTI rates the TRX085 at 96%, the TRX110C at 95.5% and the remaining models at 95%.

About the Trinity TRX

The TRX is a wall-hung, fully condensing boiler with a large-diameter-tube XTRATECH stainless steel heat exchanger, bayonet quick connectors, a swing-down control box and embedded Wi-Fi, with NTI marketing "modulating combustion up to 11:1" for the series. The spec table lists the TRX085, TRX120, TRX150 and TRX199 heating-only models and the TRX110C, TRX150C and TRX199C combis.

As with the FTVN, NTI sells a Series II version of the TRX: the same models and ratings with a reimagined user interface, setup wizard and new model codes (3314216–3314218 and 3314306–3314308), documented in its own I&O manual split across the 085–150C and 150–199C size groups. Both Series I and Series II manuals are cited on Boilers.ca, and their display-code tables are documented separately because the code lists differ by manual generation.

AFUE runs from 96% on the TRX085 down to 95.5% on the TRX110C and 95% on the rest, matching the "models up to 96% AFUE" headline. The combis deliver 2.7 GPM (TRX110C), 3.5 GPM (TRX150C) and 4.8 GPM (TRX199C) continuously at a 77°F rise, which together with the heat-loss calculation decides combi-versus-heating-only sizing for a BC home.

The NTI Trinity TRX085 is the entry TRX wall-hung condensing boiler: 9.4 to 85 MBH input, the only TRX rated 96% AFUE, at just 88.2 lb, with 2" venting to 100 ft or 3" to 150 ft per side.

Frequently asked questions

How does the TRX differ from the FTVN?

Both are NTI wall-hung condensing boiler families with the same model-size pattern. The TRX uses the XTRATECH large-diameter-tube stainless heat exchanger and NTI claims modulation up to 11:1, while the FTVN uses a vertical down-fired stainless exchanger rated up to 10:1. Model-level inputs, AFUE, DHW flows and venting terms are published on each series page.

Which TRX models are combis?

The TRX110C, TRX150C and TRX199C. Their continuous DHW capacity at a 77°F rise is 2.7, 3.5 and 4.8 GPM respectively per NTI's product page.

Is there a TRX Series II and how is it different?

Yes. The TRX Series II keeps the same models, inputs, AFUE and weights as Series I but replaces the interface with a new user interface and setup wizard and assigns new model codes. Each generation has its own I&O manual, and Boilers.ca documents each manual's display-code tables separately.
