Triangle Tube Instinct 110S (wall) in practice
The Instinct 110S is the entry model of the Instinct wall line, firing from 13,750 to 110,000 BTU/h at 95% AFUE with an 8:1 turndown that lets it track low loads in mild weather. Its stainless steel fire-tube heat exchanger, CTRLMax control and 3-in-1 universal vent adapter accepting PVC, polypropylene or stainless steel make it one of the most venting-flexible units in the line, with 2" runs allowed to 33 ft and 3" runs to 100 ft.
At 75 lb and 21.75" wide by 26" tall by 16.5" deep it is the lightest and shortest of the Instinct solos, with 1" MNPT supply/return connections and a 3/4" MNPT gas connection. Heating-only, it works with an indirect tank for domestic hot water — Triangle Tube marketed it beside the Smart 316 indirect line. Triangle Tube ceased operations November 3, 2025; this model is documented for the installed base.
Best suited to
- Homes whose heat-loss calculation fits under the 110 MBH ceiling
- Light-duty wall installs where the 75 lb unit keeps handling simple
- Projects that want venting flexibility across PVC, polypropylene or stainless steel

Frequently asked questions
What does the model number INS110S mean?
INS marks the Instinct wall series, 110 is the maximum input in thousands of BTU/h (110,000 BTU/h) and S stands for solo, meaning heating-only. The floor version carries the same rating under the code INSFS110S.
Does the Instinct 110S produce domestic hot water?
No. The 110S is a solo (heating-only) boiler, so domestic hot water comes from an indirect tank such as Triangle Tube's Smart 316 line or a separate appliance. The Instinct combis are the 155C and 199C models.
