Triangle Tube Instinct 199C (wall combi) in practice

The 199C pairs the largest Instinct wall firing range — 24,875 to 199,000 BTU/h at 95% AFUE with an 8:1 turndown — with the combi's large plate heat exchanger, which the product page says keeps the boiler fully condensing in DHW mode. Its published DHW delivery of 5.3 GPM at a 70°F rise is the figure behind the line's '5+ GPM of hot water' claim, and it reaches 4.9 GPM at 75°F and 4.6 GPM at 80°F.

At 130 lb and 21.75" wide by 33" tall it is the heaviest wall-hung Instinct, holding 4 gallons of water with 1" MNPT supply/return connections and a 3/4" MNPT gas connection. The DHW side is rated for a 150 °F maximum flow temperature with a 0.5 GPM minimum flow and 150 psi maximum operating pressure, and venting is 3" to 100 ft with no 2" run listed. Triangle Tube ceased operations November 3, 2025; this model is documented for the installed base.

Best suited to

  • Larger homes wanting one wall-hung combi with 199 MBH of heating headroom
  • Households whose hot-water draws benefit from the 5.3 GPM DHW rating at 70°F
  • Projects replacing boiler-plus-tank systems at the top of the wall-combi range
