Triangle Tube · Series
The Instinct series was Triangle Tube's stainless-steel fire-tube condensing line introduced during the CTRLMax era: wall-hung (INS) and floor (INSFS) versions of the 110S/155S/199S solos plus 155C/199C combis, all rated 95% AFUE with up to 8:1 turndown. It is documented for the installed base — Instinct pages were part of the site frozen at the November 3, 2025 cessation, and the last manual revisions are dated 09/2025.

The Instinct line pairs a stainless steel fire-tube heat exchanger with the CTRLMax control and a 3-in-1 universal vent adapter that accepts PVC, polypropylene and stainless steel venting directly. It was sold in four physical lines: wall-hung solo models INS110S, INS155S and INS199S; wall-hung combis INS155C and INS199C; floor-mounted solos INSFS110S, INSFS155S and INSFS199S; and floor-mounted combis INSFS155C and INSFS199C. Wall and floor models share the same published ratings — 95% AFUE, 8:1 turndown, AHRI net ratings of 89 to 159 MBH — while the combis add a large plate heat exchanger whose published DHW delivery reaches 5.3 GPM at a 70°F rise on the 199C.
Instinct rows already appeared on the 2019 product-comparison tables, and the line was current until Triangle Tube ceased operations on November 3, 2025; its last manual revisions (241573 Rev. A03 wall, 242194 Rev. A02 floor, vent supplement 241576) are dated September 2025 and were also published in French CAFR editions. Instinct models are not listed in the February 2025 recall, which covers Prestige Solo, Prestige Excellence and Aerco Esteem boilers only. French and English CAFR documentation and ULC-S636 vent guidance made the series fully Canada-ready, and Canadian installation references in the manuals cover CAN/CSA B149.1, CSA C22.1 and ULC-certified condensate materials.
Highlights
Product pages market the 'Peace of Mind 10-year warranty' for the Instinct line with factory registration at the time of purchase. The site banner states all purchases effective November 3, 2025 have no warranty; the recall page directs claims against Triangle Tube Phase III Co., Inc. to a proof-of-claim by the September 30, 2026 bar date.

The Instinct 155S (INS155S) is the mid-size Instinct wall solo: 19.375 to 155 MBH of input at 95% AFUE with 8:1 turndown, rated 142 MBH DOE capacity and 123 MBH net AHRI. Discontinued with the November 3, 2025 cessation.

The Instinct 199S (INS199S) is the largest Instinct wall solo: 24.875 to 199 MBH of input at 95% AFUE with 8:1 turndown, rated 184 MBH DOE capacity — the heating-only ceiling of the Instinct wall line. Discontinued with the November 3, 2025 cessation.

The Instinct 110S floor version (INSFS110S) delivers the same 13.75 to 110 MBH, 95% AFUE ratings as the wall 110S in a free-standing 22 x 41 x 22-inch cabinet at 145 lb. Discontinued with the November 3, 2025 cessation.

The Instinct 155S floor version (INSFS155S) delivers 19.375 to 155 MBH at 95% AFUE in a 157 lb, 22 x 41 x 22-inch floor cabinet, with the same 142 MBH DOE rating as the wall 155S. Discontinued with the November 3, 2025 cessation.

Services for Triangle Tube boilers
Model numbers are printed as INS110S, INS155S and INS199S for the wall solos, INS155C and INS199C for the wall combis, and with an 'FS' infix — INSFS110S/155S/199S and INSFS155C/199C — for the floor-mounted versions. Unlike the Prestige Solo, the model number equals the maximum input: the 199S and 199C fire to 199,000 BTU/h.
No. The February 2025 joint recall covers Prestige Solo, Prestige Excellence and Aerco Esteem condensing gas boilers only; Instinct models are not named in the recall tables. The Instinct series did end with the company's November 3, 2025 cessation, so it is documented here for service and repair of the installed base.
The vent supplement states that for installations in Canada all vent piping, fittings and cement/primer must be certified and listed to ULC-S636, and names Ipex Inc. as an approved manufacturer of ULC S636 vent components. The 3-in-1 adapter accepts PVC, polypropylene and stainless steel venting, with 3" runs allowed to 100 ft.
