NTI Trinity FTVN199
The NTI Trinity FTVN199 is the largest heating-only FTVN: 19.9 to 199 MBH input at 95% AFUE in a 139.5 lb wall-hung boiler. Its 2" venting terms follow NTI technical bulletin 2022-10-26, so most installations run 3" to the 150 ft limit.

NTI Trinity FTVN199 in practice
The FTVN199 tops the FTVN family at 199 MBH input for large homes and small multi-suite buildings, with the highest minimum fire in the series at 19.9 MBH. It is heating-only, weighs 139.5 lb, and connects on the same 1 1/4" NPT CH and 3/4" NPT gas connections as the rest of the line.
Venting needs an early planning check: the I&O manual allows 2" to 100 ft and 3" to 150 ft, but the 2" terms on the 199 models follow NTI technical bulletin 2022-10-26, so a 199 installation should be planned on 3" pipe within 150 ft per side. In BC's climate the 19.9 MBH minimum also argues against oversizing: a home whose heat-loss calculation sits well under this boiler's range will spend more time at minimum fire, so the FTVN150 is often the better match for mid-size houses.
Best suited to
- Large homes and small multi-suite buildings needing up to 199 MBH of input
- Projects where one wall-hung FTVN replaces a bigger older boiler
- Mechanical rooms within 150 ft of a vent terminal where 3" piping can be run

Frequently asked questions
Can the FTVN199 vent in 2" pipe?
The I&O manual lists 2" runs to 100 ft and 3" runs to 150 ft, but the 2" terms on the 199 models follow NTI technical bulletin 2022-10-26, so plan the installation on 3" venting.
Is the FTVN199 suitable for my house?
Only a heat-loss calculation can say. The boiler fires down to a 19.9 MBH minimum, so in a home whose load is far below 199 MBH the larger minimum fire reduces steady condensing operation; the FTVN150 or FTVN110 may serve better.
How heavy is the FTVN199?
139.5 lb per the NTI product page — the heaviest heating-only FTVN, and about 17.5 lb more than the FTVN150.
