About the Trinity FTVN

The FTVN is a wall-hung, fully condensing boiler built around a vertical, down-fired stainless steel heat exchanger, with 10:1 modulation, an integrated ECM pump and a DHW diverter on the combi versions. NTI's spec table lists the FTVN085, FTVN110, FTVN150 and FTVN199 heating-only models and the FTVN110C, FTVN150C and FTVN199C combis, with the same space-heating inputs on the C models as on their heating-only counterparts (11–110, 15–150 and 19.9–199 MBH respectively).

NTI sells the FTVN in two generations. The FTVN Series I uses the earlier display and the Series II adds a new user interface with an easy setup wizard plus new model codes (3314309–3314315), while the published inputs, AFUE ratings, weights and venting terms are the same on both pages. Both generations' manuals are cited on Boilers.ca, and their numeric display codes are documented per manual generation because the two controls group codes slightly differently.

Efficiency across the family is 96% AFUE on the FTVN085 and 95% on the other models, although the page headline copy says "up to 96%". The combi models deliver continuous DHW at a 77°F rise of 2.7 GPM (FTVN110C), 3.6 GPM (FTVN150C) and 4.8 GPM (FTVN199C), which is how a BC installer decides between a combi and a heating-only FTVN paired with an indirect tank.

Frequently asked questions

What changed between the FTVN Series I and Series II?

NTI describes the Series II as the same hardware family with a new user interface and easy setup wizard, plus new model codes (3314309–3314315). Published inputs, AFUE, weights and venting terms are identical on the two pages, and each generation has its own I&O manual.

Which FTVN models provide domestic hot water?

The FTVN110C, FTVN150C and FTVN199C are combis with an integrated DHW plate in the appliance. NTI rates their continuous DHW capacity at 2.7, 3.6 and 4.8 GPM at a 77°F rise respectively.

What do the numeric codes on an FTVN display mean?

NTI groups codes by circuit: 1xx covers the primary (central heat) circuit, 2xx the DHW circuit, 3xx internal electronics, 4xx external electronics, 5xx ignition and detection, 6xx air and flue, and 7xx multi-zone. Boilers.ca documents each generation's table from its own manual.
