NTI Trinity FTVN150C in practice
The FTVN150C combines a 15 to 150 MBH heating range with a domestic hot water plate and diverter, rated for 3.6 GPM continuous at a 77°F rise. At 128.5 lb it sits between the 107 lb FTVN110C and the 140.5 lb FTVN199C, keeping the family's 1 1/4" NPT CH connections and 3/4" NPT gas connection.
Its 3.6 GPM continuous DHW figure is the practical middle ground for a BC household: more than the 110C's 2.7 GPM for back-to-back showers, without jumping to the 199C's 4.8 GPM. The heating side still needs a heat-loss calculation — the boiler's 15 MBH minimum fire is a little high for very small houses, and oversizing a combi for hot water alone shortens steady condensing operation.
Best suited to
- Detached homes and townhouses where two bathrooms draw hot water in sequence
- Homes wanting more DHW headroom than the FTVN110C without an indirect tank
- Mid-size houses whose heat-loss calculation fits within 150 MBH of input

Frequently asked questions
How does the FTVN150C's DHW compare with the FTVN110C?
NTI rates continuous DHW at 3.6 GPM for a 77°F rise on the 150C, against 2.7 GPM on the 110C. The 150C also raises heating input from 110 to 150 MBH and weighs 128.5 lb instead of 107 lb.
Can the FTVN150C handle two simultaneous showers?
3.6 GPM at a 77°F rise approaches two low-flow heads in mild conditions, but delivery depends on incoming water temperature. Where simultaneous draws are guaranteed, NTI's larger 199C (4.8 GPM) or an indirect-tank system is the safer design.
What is the FTVN150C's efficiency?
95% AFUE per the NTI product page, matching the heating-only FTVN150.
