NTI Trinity FTVN199C
The NTI Trinity FTVN199C is the largest FTVN combi: heating at 19.9 to 199 MBH input with 4.8 GPM continuous DHW at a 77°F rise, rated 95% AFUE. Its 2" venting terms follow NTI technical bulletin 2022-10-26, so plan on 3" pipe.

Input is gas energy consumed; output is heat delivered. Never size from input alone.
NTI Trinity FTVN199C in practice
The FTVN199C is the combi answer for larger homes: up to 199 MBH of space-heating input plus a domestic hot water plate rated for 4.8 GPM continuous at a 77°F rise, in a 140.5 lb wall-hung boiler. That DHW figure is the strongest in the FTVN combi line and covers most two-bathroom households without a tank.
Two planning points stand out. First, venting: the 2" terms on the 199 models follow NTI technical bulletin 2022-10-26, so the installation should run 3" pipe within the 150 ft per-side limit. Second, minimum fire: at 19.9 MBH the 199C is a poor match for a low-load home, so the heating side must justify the size even when the DHW demand does.
Best suited to
- Larger homes wanting one appliance for heat and high-volume hot water
- Households whose simultaneous DHW draws approach the 150C's 3.6 GPM ceiling
- High heat-loss homes and small multi-suite buildings within 199 MBH

Frequently asked questions
How much hot water does the FTVN199C make?
4.8 GPM continuous at a 77°F rise per the NTI product page — the highest DHW rating in the FTVN combi line.
Can the FTVN199C use 2" venting?
The manual lists 2" to 100 ft, but the 2" terms on the 199 models follow NTI technical bulletin 2022-10-26; NTI's 3" allowance to 150 ft per side is the term to plan on.
Is the 199C just a bigger 150C?
It adds about 49 MBH of heating input and lifts DHW from 3.6 to 4.8 GPM, but its minimum fire also rises from 15 to 19.9 MBH and its weight from 128.5 to 140.5 lb, so the heat-loss calculation must support it.
