IBC Technologies DC Series (discontinued)

The IBC DC Series was IBC's discontinued wall-hung condensing combi line, sold as the DC 23-84, 15-95, 15-96, 29-106, 33-124, 20-125 and 33-160. Each model combined space heating with an integrated domestic hot water coil; the manuals and specification table remain on IBC's Technical Information Portal.

About the DC Series (discontinued)

The DC Series is no longer sold on ibcboiler.ca but remains documented on IBC's Technical Information Portal, where the DC model list and DC specification table cover seven sizes: DC 23-84, 15-95, 15-96, 29-106, 33-124, 20-125 and 33-160. They are combination boilers: the specification table lists both a space-heating coil (43.5 psig maximum operating pressure) and a domestic hot water coil (150 psig).

Input spans 15–160 MBH across the line and AFUE ranges from 94% to 96% depending on the model. Common rows include 5"/14" w.c. gas supply, 12,000 ft altitude approval, space-heating water of 50–194°F and DHW water of 104–149°F, with venting of 120 equivalent feet in 3" or 35 feet in 2" per side. Power draw at full fire with the internal pump ranges from 126 W to 164 W, and the units weigh 85–105 lb.

Two cells on IBC's DC specification table are printed with apparent errors: the DC 33-160 domestic-hot-water input is printed as 33–124 MBH, and the DC 29-106 output is printed as 8.9–32.3 kW (the HC table prints 7.7–27.6 kW for the same range). Boilers.ca records the values as printed and notes the discrepancy. Separately, IBC's November 2019 service notice covers a heat-exchanger gasket upgrade for DC 33-160 units built July 2014–November 2016; owners should check the serial range with a licensed contractor.

Frequently asked questions

Is the DC Series still sold?

No. It is a discontinued IBC line that remains on the Technical Information Portal for owners and technicians. IBC's current residential condensing lines include the SL Series G3, VX and Superflow.

What kind of boiler was the DC Series?

A wall-hung condensing combi: it provided space heating and domestic hot water from separate coils in one appliance, with a 43.5 psig space-heating coil and a 150 psig DHW coil.

Why do the DC specs show different numbers than the HC specs?

IBC's DC and HC specification tables overlap for several sizes. The DC table prints the DC 29-106 output as 8.9–32.3 kW while the HC table prints 7.7–27.6 kW for the same range, and the DC 33-160 DHW input cell prints 33–124 MBH. Boilers.ca records each page as printed and flags the differences.
