The Vitogas 050 is a discontinued atmospheric cast-iron gas boiler line kept in Viessmann Canada's historic manuals: the residential ECD, ECD-S and ECV variants in eight sizes from 65 to 200 MBH, and the commercial RS variant in three sizes from 550 to 1050 MBH.

The Vitogas 050 is a natural gas or propane-fired cast-iron hot-water boiler with an atmospheric burner, sold in Canada in several variants. The residential ECD, ECD-S and ECV series share eight sizes — 65, 80, 100, 115, 140, 155, 180 and 200 — covering 65 to 200 MBH (19 to 59 kW) input. The ECD and ECD-S print 83.0-83.7% AFUE; the ECV prints 83.1% AFUE across all eight sizes. The commercial RS series has three sizes — RS-8, RS-11 and RS-14 — covering 550 to 1050 MBH (161 to 308 kW) with a printed 85% combustion efficiency and single- or two-stage firing.
The residential variants split by trim and venting. ECD and ECD-S are chimney-vented with a draft hood, and Viessmann's data sheet notes each ECD-S ships with a FieldControls vent damper to meet the minimum AFUE; the ECV uses a 3 in. vent collar with a 20 ft maximum equivalent vent run. The ECD-S cabinet stands taller (43 in. / 1092 mm on the 65-155 sizes and 46 in. / 1168 mm on the 180/200) than the ECD and ECV. All residential sizes share 50 psig maximum operating pressure, 1¼ in. supply and return connections and ½ in. gas connections.
The RS commercial models are built from 8, 11 and 14 cast-iron sections with 7, 10 and 13 burners respectively, at 60 psig maximum operating pressure and 2 in. supply and return connections. The whole line is discontinued and documented under Viessmann Canada's historic manuals, including the ECD technical data manual (doc 5167 444 v1.4, 01/2008), the ECD-S technical data sheet, the ECV technical data manual (doc 5167 449 v1.3, 01/2008) and the RS technical data manual (v1.2, 01/2004).
